In a world where our mental health is not given it’s just due, we want to emphasize how important mental health is. Our goal is to provide optimal mental healthcare. We feel that Psychiatry has turned into rushed 15 minute medication management appointments and 30 minute initial appointments. We want to change that. We value spending time with our patients and actually getting to know your story. Optimal Psychiatry and Wellness was created to help provide accessible mental health care and help reduce the stigma of mental health. Providing hope for someone that there can be a better future is the best feeling as a provider. There is no better feeling. We stand united in pushing mental health to the forefront of health care and we want to be a part of your journey. We are Optimal Psychiatry and Wellness.

Mental illness is very common in the United States, but less than half of patients who have mental illness seek treatment. About 1 in 5 adults in the United States experience mental illness and almost half will face a mental health condition at some point in their lives.
Yes, mental illness is treatable. In most cases, the symptoms of a mental illness improve with psychotherapy, medication, or a combination of both. Alternative treatments, such as TMS therapy and esketamine (Spravato®) therapy used in conjunction with therapy and medication can also be very effective. Treatment may affect people differently and should always be individualized under consultation with a mental health practitioner.
Our providers are licensed and highly skilled in many different types of mental health conditions, but we most commonly see depression, treatment-resistant depression, bipolar disorders, OCD, and anxiety disorders. When you meet with one of our providers for the first time, you will receive a very thorough evaluation to determine and develop a customized treatment plan for your needs. There may be rare cases that a particular plan exceeds the level of care that we can provide, but we provide appropriate referrals in that scenario.
Please contact the Patient Care Center at our main number (1-667-668-2566) for medical records requests. A minimum of 72 business hours’ notice is required to process all requests for medical records, but some requests may take up to 14 days. We require a properly completed “Release of Information” form that has been signed by the patient, legal guardian, or Power of Attorney, to release records. We follow the State of Maryland medical record release fees (preparation fee of $22.88, plus $0.76 per page) plus postage and handling, as applicable. For completion of forms, letters, and paperwork, you may be asked to schedule an appointment with your provider, who will complete the request at the time of your appointment. A Treatment Summary Letter may be provided for $75.00. Otherwise, there is a nominal fee of up to $40.00 for all completed forms, payable upon pick-up.
